What you get

One comparison. Five answers.

Both portfolios, measured against the same map.

How many patents each side holds, how many were filed recently, how many are still active, and which companies lead.

One shared map

Both portfolios sit on the same technology areas, grouped by what their claims say. A patent counts as yours, theirs or shared.

A clean set, your call

Semantyr flags patents that look off-topic or near-identical. You decide what to remove.

Measured first, written second

The numbers are fixed before anything is written

The reasoning engine measures. The language model writes on top of what was measured. It never decides a group or a number.

Measured

By the reasoning engine. No language model.
  • How many patents each side holds in every area
  • How many were filed recently
  • How many are still active
  • Which companies lead on each side
  • Where each patent sits inside its area

Written

By the language model, from the measured groups.
  • Strengths and weaknesses
  • Opportunities and threats
  • The IP edge summary
  • The executive summary

The written comparison sits on top of measured groups. It is written, not calculated, and it says so.

Sorting
Each side's patents counted by classification code.
Both portfolios grouped by what their claims say, on one shared map.
Reading
Totals charted. The reading is left to you.
Area by area numbers, and where each side sits inside every area.
Writing
You write the comparison yourself, after the charts.
A written comparison for your purpose, built on measured groups.

Questions we hear

What do I need to bring?+
Two patent files, yours and theirs. Name them whatever you like. Semantyr starts after the search, so you bring the sets you have already built with your usual tools.
Is the SWOT calculated?+
No. The groups and the numbers are measured first. The strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats view, and the IP edge summary, are then written by a language model from the grouped patents.
Does it work for my technology?+
Yes. Patents are grouped by what their claims say, so any technology and any filing language is treated the same way.
How is this different from counting patents by classification code?+
Counting by code tells you how many patents sit on each shelf. Semantyr groups both portfolios by claim meaning on one shared map, then shows how many patents each side holds, how recent they are and who leads, area by area.
What is it used for?+
Licensing talks, freedom to operate and M&A due diligence. Pick your purpose first and the written comparison leans that way.
Can I download my report?+
Yes, any time. Download the report in one click and share it by email.
Is my data used to train models?+
No. Customer data is never used to train any model, and workspaces are isolated from each other. Read more on the Trust & Security page.
